Background

DamascusSteel started appearing in the YouTube comments in late 2024, however has become more prolific throughout 2025, amassing several hundreds of comments during the second half of 2025, in many popular scientific YouTube channels, including SciManDan, Conspiracy Toonz, MCToon Live and Dave McKeegan.
In a YouTube comment on 10 March 2026, flat Earther "andyandersonnn" openly described DamscusSteel as "One of the most idiotic and bitter stalkers on Youtube", whilst also admitting that DamascusSteel's continued failures to prove the Flat Earth "Makes the debunked cult looks [sic] really bad, without even realizing". DamascusSteel has since gone onto admit that the Flat Earth Cult "kids" can't handle the reality of Earth being a globe.
DamascusSteel operates no less than 16 other YouTube personas (list below) and has on several occasions been caught liking his own comments, and talking to himself via his sock puppet accounts. The reason for this highly unusual behaviour is unknown and DamascusSteel has refused to comment on numerous occasions, however it is likely that he uses multiple accounts in order to give the appearance that he has supporters, and evade bans/YouTube comment restrictions.

When challenged on his claims, he refuses to provide coherent answers, deflects, and projects his intellectual inadequacies onto other commenters. When he becomes especially triggered, he admits defeat by resorting to childish insults.
Known Accounts/Aliases

DamascusSteel operates several known aliases on YouTube, which he has on several occasions confirmed. However in recent times, he has been attempting to distance himself from prior admissions, for reasons unknown.

He has recently begun posting more of his misinformation and lies within the "posts" section of his primary YouTube account, as many of his comments from within videos are either hidden or removed due to spam or misleading content. Even more recently, he has also begun posting the same content on some of his sock puppet accounts.
Colloquially, DamascusSteel (and his sock puppet accounts) is known as "Dammy", "DUMBASScusSteel", "DamascusWeasel" and "DumbassThatSqueals". On 16 February 2026, in a public post DamascusSteel referred to himself as "Pusscakes", which is supposedly his preferred nickname.

DamascusSteel has been caught several times talking to himself through his sock puppet accounts. In a rather embarrassing post on his own channel on 5 March 2026, DamascusSteel gives himself a pat on the back while also claiming that the "gang is back together" and that he "owns the whole school district".
In another humiliating display, DamascusSteel was once again caught talking to himself with his sock puppet accounts BobbyQ-d5j, Theboss-m7v and Pauljohnson-s2p, but denies that the accounts belong to him, despite earlier admissions and confirmation that they are operated by the same person. In the exchange, YouTube user "ColaGuts" points out the sock puppet accounts, leaving DamascusSteel triggered and coping.
Personal Life & Mental Health

DamascusSteel appears to be unemployed and spends most waking hours spamming YouTube comments with lies and misinformation. As he is a habitual liar, he has been caught-out on several occasions forgetting which lies he has told and with which accounts. He is estimated to be between 15 and 20 years of age and is likely living in the United States. His actual name is not known.
Like many flerfs, DamascusSteel appears to be suffering from severe mental illness in the form of Delusional Disorder, and exhibits telltale traits of one or more personality disorders. He is also likely suffering from learning difficulties as a result.
In his YouTube comments, DamascusSteel appears to act alone. He has no known allies or supporters which also likely extends to his life outside the internet based on his behaviour. DamascusSteel operates his own YouTube channel which has no content other than his community posts, with the sole purpose of posting misinformation to his subscribers, which currently sits at a total of 6 users. Those users are likely to be primarily or entirely made up of his sock puppet accounts.
DamascusSteel is a fan of Nathan Oakley. He also identifies himself as politically left or "progressive" and subscribes to David Pakman and Adam Mockler.
More recently, DamascusSteel's mental health appears to be declining, particularly in the lead up to his own challenge with McToon. It appears he may be suffering from schizophrenia and he believes that random users within YouTube comments, are McToon, despite being categorically denied and confirmed by McToon himself.
Tactics to use if you encounter DamascusSteel
Owing to his declining mental health and increased fixation on certain people and topics, the following are some helpful tips on how to deal with DamascusSteel (or his sock puppet accounts):
- #1 - Never engage with him directly. You will end up in an endless loop of his nonsense. He will never learn from anything you said, or admit that he is a failure. Don't waste your energy.
- #2 - Focus your discussions about DamascusSteel with other, normal people. (Refer to point 1; Do not engage directly).
- #3 - DamascusSteel will try to use personal insults and childish tactics in order to elicit a response directly from you (e.g: "Run away [name] you are nothing without me". Don't fall into his trap.
- #4 - Treat him like a child; the more he carries on, the more you ignore him. He will soon return back to oblivion.
DamascusSteel craves an audience and even the slightest acknowledgement that his posts elicit a reaction from you, will cause him to keep trying to engage with you. Remember: DamascusSteel loses sleep, coping with the fact that Earth is a globe, he will be cranky and triggered.
Education
DamascusSteel has claimed to hold a college degree, however has not provided any further information or evidence to support this claim. It is almost certain that, at best, he has a elementary school level of education and has not finished secondary school. Other than his lack of understanding of the physical world he lives in, his language skills are consistent with a 6 to 10 year old's level, lacking basic spelling and punctuation, and exhibits poor reading comprehension skills.

In a public comment made on 5 February 2026, DamascusSteel criticised another YouTuber for being "too stupid", after making a simple spelling mistake. In an attempt to ridicule the YouTuber, DamascusSteel said: "On [sic] letter misprint and he’s too stupid to figure it out", himself misspelling the word "one".
Cult Affiliations
In a public post on his own YouTube channel, DamascusSteel stated that "The cult is in meeting to figure up where to go from here". Seemingly, the Flat Earth Cult had convened to discuss the matter of the Pensacola Challenge, and how to recover from the continued lies DamascusSteel has told, and the reputational damage done to the Flat Earth Cult. It is not known what the outcome of the meeting was, or what would be DamascusSteel's punishment.
It is not known what position DamascusSteel occupies within the Flat Earth Cult, however it is suspected that he is merely a low-level follower.
Filmography
DamascusSteel appears in the 2026 music video "Flat Earth is Dead" published by Conspiracy Music Studios.
Claims
Below is a list of claims DamascusSteel has made, in public, predominately on YouTube.
Flat Earth
Not surprisingly, DamascusSteel believes the Earth is flat, but is unable to provide any evidence for this claim.
The Shrinking Sun
DamascusSteel's primary claim is that the sun does not rise or set beyond the horizon, and does not maintain the same angular size throughout the day. Despite observable reality, DamascusSteel claims that the setting sun shrinks to the size of a small dot, before disappearing completely. His explanation for this is that the sun moves "beyond the limit of vision", but is unable to provide any calculations or measurements on what this supposed limit is. He also can't explain why the sun cannot be "zoomed back" into view with a zoom lens or telescope.
In a post, DamascusSteel described that "the sun shrinks down to nothing before disappearing above the horizon not behind it or below it".
Despite being shown a number of videos of the sun clearly rising from and setting beyond the horizon, DamascusSteel's modus operandi consists of outright denial and skipping to the point in the video where the sun is already in the sky. It's this "evidence" that he relies on to support his claims.
On 9 February 2026, DamascusSteel finally conceded that videos of the setting sun successfully destroy the notion of a "Flat Earth". Considering several videos of sunsets that were recorded live, already exist, DamascusSteel accepts that "Flat Earth" has been destroyed numerous times.

At 23:43 hours on 23 February 2026, (17:43 local time at Pensacola, Florida), DamascusSteel's comment was proven true. Flat Earth was "instantly and forever" destroyed, as the sun set beyond the horizon, live on YouTube.
Distance to the Sun
Another common claim by DamascusSteel is that the sun is 6000 miles away from Earth, but as usual, has no measurements or evidence to support this claim. When asked about elevation angles, he gets confused, deflects and begins to cope.
Dismissing Video Evidence of a Sunrise
After demanding to see video proof that the sun rises from beyond the horizon, DamascusSteel was provided a video showing the sun rising in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The sunrise video is recorded daily from Mount Wellington, approximately 1270 metres above sea level and has a clear, unobstructed 360-degree view. In the video, the sun is clearly seen rising from beyond the horizon, however DamascusSteel blindly dismissed this, instead making the false claim that the sun is seen to "triple in size as it moves from 6000 miles away to 2000 miles".
The Final Experiment

DamascusSteel has made several false and fabricated claims, both on his own channel and in YouTube comments, regarding The Final Experiment and the group's trip to Antarctica to witness and document the 24-hour sun in December 2024. According to Dammy, TFE was merely "theatrics to defraud people on an international level by an organized cult group" and has made the claim that Will Duffy and MCToon "have committed an intentional crime by an organized cult group in Antarctica by defying the Antarctica Treaty which makes what they did illegal by using Antarctica as the stage for this idiotic crime they have committed".
In a post made on his own channel, Dammy claims that one "won’t see any armed guards at the airports if you went there legally", apparently in an attempt to make the claim that the only reason the TFE team may have seen armed personnel at the airport, was because they travelled "illegally", a claim which is demonstrably false and misleading.
Throughout the latter part of 2025, DamascusSteel claims to be collecting "evidence" in preparation for a court case against TFE, as he believes that proving the Earth is a globe amounts to "fraud".
GPS
DamascusSteel does not understand how the Global Positioning System (GPS) works. On several occasions, he has falsely claimed that "GPS is not provided by satellites", instead every ship and land-based tower transmits the GPS signal. When challenged as to why GPS continues to operate in the absence of any tower or vessel, or why GPS antennas point upward towards the sky, he deflects and refuses to provide answers.
Earth has a "Flat Curve"

On 4 September 2025, during a conversation about Earth's curvature being visible from some commercial flights, he asked how one can see a "flat curve on a ball" (referring to the globe Earth). When asked what he meant by "flat curve", he would deflect and run away whenever the question was asked. To-date, we still don't know what he meant by a "flat curve".
Science-based YouTube Channels are "Failing"
A new false claim by DamascusSteel began surfacing mid-to-late November 2025, which has become a routine part of his repertoire includes claiming that science-based YouTube channels, such as SciManDan and MCToon are "failing" following The Final Experiment, despite channel statistics showing otherwise. In 2024 and 2025 alone, subscriptions to SciManDan increased by almost 140,000 new users, with MCToon Live/Conspiracy Toonz experiencing about 22,000 new subscribers in the same period. Video viewership on both channels have also seen significant increases in engagement.
Lunar Eclipses are a "New Invention"
In December 2025, DamascusSteel claimed (in a public comment on one of SciManDan's videos) that "lunar eclipses didn't exist until a few years ago [2006]" and denies that they prove that Earth is a globe. He also claimed that supermoons "stopped coming every 14 months [and] now they come 4 times a year".
On 4 March 2026, DamascusSteel revised his claim. In a post on his own channel, he claims that "lunar eclipses didn’t exist until 2016" and that they are apparently "shadows projected onto the moon from an earth based light source". As with everything else, he has no provided no evidence or sources for these claims, and becomes increasingly triggered when questioned.
Radiofrequency Doesn't Travel Through a Vacuum
In January 2026, DamascusSteel claimed publicly that "a [radio] signal cannot travel through an empty void".
Toon hacked his computer
Damascus claims that Toon hacked his computer.
The Letter 'L' is a "Cult" Tag

Following the failure of DamascusSteel's own challenge on 23 February 2026, he now claims that posting the single letter 'L' is a "cyber cult tag" and a "gang tag" for "intimidating people". He also claims that posting the letter 'L' is "highly illegal" and a "felony".
Moments later, DamascusSteel himself proceeds to post the letter 'L' several times on his own YouTube channel, directed at several users.
It is unknown if DamascusSteel has turned himself into his own imaginary police to face imaginary felony charges, and be put before an imaginary court. If found guilty of this imaginary offence, DamascusSteel could face over 1 billion Ohnosecond's in an imaginary jail and/or a fine of 500 million Monopoly dollars.

Challenges & Debates
DamascusSteel is well known for challenging other users, or wanting to debate, however whenever anyone accepts his challenge, he either fails to provide details, finds an excuse not to participate, or runs away and hides until the debate is over.
Dammy's Beach Challenge
Throughout 2025, DamascusSteel has "challenged" multiple users, including prominent YouTube creators to "meet him at the beach" to observe the sunset. He is unable to explain why or for what purpose, but seems fixated on this challenge. It is suspected that he has never visited the beach before, and he is looking for some grown-ups to take him, however this is unconfirmed.
MCToon Live Stream - 19 November 2025
On 19/11/2025, MCToon conducted a live stream with an open invite to any Flat Earther to join him to debate any topic of their choosing. DamascusSteel was made aware of this live stream, but refused to participate. After the debate ended, he continued asking people to debate him.
MCToon Live Stream - 26 November 2025
After DamascusSteel made several demands to debate MCToon, on 26/11/2025 he was given a second opportunity to do so either in-person or virtually via Zoom. MCToon specifically invited DamascusSteel onto his show to debate any topic of his choosing. DamascusSteel was provided with both a physical address and a Zoom meeting link where he could freely join the discussion. In this very special DamascusSteel episode of MCToon Live (titled "Rise of the Mentally Ill Flerfs"), DamascusSteel participated in the text chat, but refused to debate MCToon, and refused to join the Zoom meeting. After almost 3 hours of hiding from MCToon, the stream ended and no debate occurred.
MCToon Sunset Challenge - February 2026
DamascusSteel has made several more demands to "challenge" MCToon to meet him at the shore to observe the sunset. MCToon has accepted the challenge and it has been agreed that DamascusSteel would meet MCToon in-person in Pensacola, Florida between 23/02/2026 and 27/02/2026. The meet has been advertised publicly on YouTube and on this page: Meetup_Pensacola_2026-02.
The location chosen is Pensacola Beach, Florida USA, which includes a 400 metre long pier which features elevated, unobstructed views south towards the Gulf of Mexico (30°19'38.2"N 87°08'31.0"W). Pensacola Beach is close to transportation and several hotels which can be easily and cheaply booked due to it being the off-season.
The primary goal is to record the size of the sun as it sets. This will be done using a solar filter. The location is selected to have a direct view to the sun as it sets over the Gulf of America.
There is a dinner to follow afterwards.
DamascusSteel has publicly accepted this challenge, and even advised MCToon to ensure he gets "a permit for people to gather on a beach to do an event like this so the cops don’t stop it" (although one is not required).
Tracking Challenge Progress
The challenge has been scheduled between 23 February 2026 to 27 February 2026 (Central Standard Time). McToon has already booked travel arrangements and accommodation for the week.
DamascusSteel has not been forthcoming with details other than to confirm that he'll be in attendance that week. Previously, he has refused to provide arrival flight details, citing privacy concerns.
DamascusSteel has, on several occasions, denied he will be flying and instead arriving by "Dog sled and Greyhound bus", although he has not specified an estimated arrival date or time, despite being prompted several times. It is unknown what he plans to do with the dogs and sled on the second leg of his journey.
The nearest Greyhound bus terminus is located at 2430 Airport Blvd, Pensacola, approximately 21 kilometres (13 miles) from the mutually agreed meeting point. As of 16 February 2026, there appear to be no scheduled arrivals into Pensacola according to Greyhound's website, that would be in DamascusSteel's location, yet he is still determined to catch the non-existent bus to Florida.
As at 16 February 2026, DamascusSteel has admitted that he lied about his travel arrangements to Pensacola. It comes as no surprise to anyone that he has been trying to weasel out of his own challenge since McToon called his bluff in late 2025.
On 22 February 2026, McToon has arrived in Pensacola, as agreed. DamascusSteel has made claims that he is also in Pensacola, but has not yet provided any evidence that supports his claims.
At 23:15 hours on 23 February 2026 (UTC), McToon began streaming the sunset from Pensacola, as promised. As expected, DamascusSteel failed to attend and instead ran away and hid.
The challenge concluded shortly after sunset. DamascusSteel failed to attend and did not participate in the live chat. His excuse for failing to attend his own challenge is not yet known, however the challenge concluded with the Flat Earth being "instantly and forever" destroyed.
Timeline
(All times/dates are in UTC, unless otherwise specified.)
17 December 2025 06:28 - McToon provided DamascusSteel with the challenge dates. He also explains that he "will be live streaming the sunset one of the days depending on weather".
17 December 2025 08:50 - DamascusSteel requests precise locations on the beach. In this comment, he explains: "We will need the exact location so we can arrange to have all of our equipment and people there ready to show you the horizon is at eye level and all the oil platforms are visible for miles beyond what you claim the horizon is. The sunset is only part of it all."
17 December 2025 09:17 - DamascusSteel publicly announces that McToon has accepted his challenge. In a comment in McToon's YouTube channel, DamascusSteel posted: "So today McTool accepted our meet up challenge which he will need to advertise to get everyone together in Pensacola FL Feb 23 27 which we will need a location to meet at."
17 December 2025 15:42 - McToon responds by providing two precise locations on Pensacola Beach. One location is at the end of Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier (weather permitting), with a secondary location situated on the beach, directly in front of The Dock beachside bar.
23 January 2026 02:32 - Details about the meetup are posted on the Flerf Wiki.
3 February 2026 02:00 - McToon published a YouTube video with details about the challenge. In the video, he explains that anyone is welcome to attend to observe or participate.
3 February 2026 20:09 - In a public post, McToon provided DamascusSteel his email address, advising him to let him know his arrival details. McToon offered to pay for DamascusSteel's Lyft/Uber from Pensacola Airport to the meeting destination.
3 February 2026 20:32 - McToon published a YouTube video confirming that a permit is not required for this meetup.
9 February 2026 15:13 - DamascusSteel posted that "Feb 23 will be the first day of the peaceful meet up at 4:00 pm".
10 February 2026 00:42 - DamascusSteel denies he will be flying to Florida, but instead confirms that he will be arriving on a Greyhound bus: "Dog sled about halfway and then grey hound [sic] bus the rest of the way".
11 February 2026 11:28 - DamascusSteel confirms again that he will be travelling by "dog sled and bus" but claims that he is unable to provide an arrival time, rather he stated "you get there when you get there". This claim has been challenged, as Greyhound bus trips require pre-booking with a known arrival date and time.
12 February 2026 14:59 - In a public post, DamascusSteel stated: "Truth is I'll be docking my boat at the marina well before then" (referring to the first day of the challenge). DamascusSteel is not mature or capable enough to hold a boat licence, so it can be safely assumed this is yet another one of his lies.
13 February 2026 01:58 - As the first day of the challenge draws closer, DamascusSteel appears increasingly panicked and defensive about his involvement. In a public post on his own YouTube channel (when asked what time his bus is scheduled to arrive in Pensacola), he wrote "Why would I take a bus when I have a boat", seemingly forgetting that he had twice stated he would be arriving on a Greyhound bus service. His post then spirals into an illogical and irrational rant about the Antarctic Treaty.
14 February 2026 02:55 - DamascusSteel still refuses to discuss any details of his arrival to Pensacola, however confirmed in a post that he will be "at the beach by the pier 4 pm on the 23rd".
16 February 2026 00:01 - Greyhound have published their arrival schedules into Pensacola for 22 and 23 February 2026. DamascusSteel stated that he would be arriving into Pensacola on a Greyhound bus service, however there are no services arriving on these two days that are relevant to DamascusSteel's itinerary (one is arriving from Jacksonville, FL, and the other from Houston, TX). DamascusSteel has been approached for comment but has refused to explain why the bus service he said he would be arriving on, doesn't exist. It would appear DamascusSteel fabricated his travel plans and has no intention of actually attending his own challenge.
16 February 2026 05:24 - DamascusSteel has doubled-down on his original claim (that he will be arriving on a Greyhound bus service), however he has admitted he doesn't have a booking, instead he intends on "buy bys [sic] tickets when we get on a bus because they run everywhere every day", this is still in spite of there being no scheduled services to Pensacola that DamascusSteel is able to catch from his location, to arrive at the challenge on either 22 or 23 February. He still has not explained what he'll be doing with his dogs and sled from the first leg of his journey.
16 February 2026 - In a public comment on his own channel, DamascusSteel admitted that he had lied about his travel arrangements to Pensacola, stating "And yes you stupidpos [sic] I was lying".
19 February 2026 23:22 - As predicted, DamascusSteel is weaselling out of travelling to Pensacola and attending his own challenge. In a post made on his own channel, DamascusSteel made a false claim that he is not required to be present. screenshot.
22 February 2026 07:30 - DamascusSteel claims he has already arrived in Pensacola, Florida.
22 February 2026 20:42 - McToon publishes a video from the meeting location, at Pensacola Beach.
22 February 2026 21:39 - DamascusSteel states that he is currently at "Crabby's" (possibly referring to Crabs on the Beach).
23 February 2026 22:00 - The agreed meet-up time (16:00 local time). DamascusSteel is nowhere to be found and he has failed to respond with his location. It appears Dammy is hiding from his own challenge.
23 February 2026 23:15 - McToon began his live stream at the agreed location. DamascusSteel has so far failed to appear in-person.
23 February 2026 23:43 - The sun set beyond the horizon at Pensacola at 17:43 local time. DamascusSteel has still failed to appear, however the live stream continued. According to DamascusSteel this single event has "destroyed flat Earth instantly and forever".
23 February 2026 23:48 - McToon's live stream ended. DamascusSteel failed to attend his own challenge.
23 February 2026 - DamascusSteel's own challenge has officially concluded, in favour of the Globe Earth. No evidence of a "Flat Earth" was able to be proven.
DamascusSteel's Excuses
DamascusSteel has made a number of excuses, in an attempt to invalidate his own challenge, or potentially weasel his way out of attending.
Not a beach
On 23 January 2026, DamascusSteel made a public comment claiming that the challenge was "invalid" because Pensacola Beach, wasn't a "beach location". Since accepting the challenge, DamascusSteel has made numerous other comments in an attempt to invalidate the challenge and weasel his way out of attending, whilst simultaneously claiming that McToon had already "cheated".
Toon won't livestream
On 3 February MCToon posted a video inviting everyone to attend the meetup in Pensacola Beach, FL. DamascusSteel promptly started the squirming by first claiming that MCToon wasn't going to do a livestream. A strange claim as MCToon has done many livestreams from Pensacola Beach in the past. This won't age well.
Permit
Then DamascusSteel claimed that gatherings aren't allowed on the beach. Permits are needed for weddings or gatherings of 5,000 people or more. This gathering isn't a wedding, and there won't be 5,000 people so no permit is needed.
Doubling down on the beach gathering claim DamascusSteel actually posted the phone number to the Pensacola Beach information line suggesting that he had called and determined that public gatherings were not allowed without a permit. MCToon called this number and posted the recording within minutes. Proving again that DamascusSteel is lying.
Damascus is so stupid that he thinks Toon needs a permit because there are other people that have nothing to do with the meetup.
Being there all week
Not once was it said that they would film the sun for 5 days, but Damascus desperate to find an excuse insist that they must be there for all five days.
Insufficient Time to Make Travel Arrangements

DamascusSteel's latest excuse as of 11 February 2026 (UTC) is that he is claiming that McToon only provided 3 weeks' notice of the challenge, and that wouldn't be enough time for people to make arrangements to be in Florida to witness the event. This is despite the fact that DamascusSteel himself agreed to the challenge some 2 months prior (in December 2025) and has made several posts asking others if they are also attending. In one comment over a month ago, DamascusSteel said "Are you going to meet us in Pensacola Florida for the Feb 23 27 livestream McTool claims he’s going to do". His claims of a 3 week notice period appears to be an excuse that he is fabricating, which he will use after the challenge as a reason why he didn't attend, and shifting the blame of his non-attendance onto others. He also appears to now be distancing himself from the challenge, claiming that McToon is the only people that needs to be in there in-person.
The pier is not a sea level
Damascus complains about the pier not being at sea level, as if that made any notable difference to the sunset.
Observations by others are valid
Damascus is weaseling out of showing up at the observations and acknowledges his present is not required. Implying that observations by others are perfectly valid in a YT post.
His challenge clearly states that it is about meeting him at the beach. So he is already making excuses to not be there.
Damascus Delusion
Damascus is so deluded he even forgot that Toon chose the spot. In fact Damascus did everything he could for Toon to not go there.
Conclusion and Summary
In late 2025, DamascusSteel issued a public challenge to MCToon to meet at date and location chosen by MCToon, to observe and record the setting sun with video equipment. MCToon formally accepted the challenge and scheduled the meetup for 23 February 2026 at Pensacola, Florida, which offered unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico sunset. The primary objective was to either prove or disprove that the sun sets beyond the horizon.
The event was widely advertised via MCToon’s YouTube channel, on social media, with details also published on the Flerf Wiki.
MCToon began an uninterrupted livestream of the sunset at the agreed time and position on 23 February 2026. Throughout the scheduled window, MCToon maintained a clear view of the horizon and conducted the livestream as planned. DamascusSteel repeatedly claimed to be in the vicinity, but failed to make a single verifiable in-person appearance at the agreed meetup location, nor did he engage with the live chat during the event.
The sunset was successfully observed and livestreamed by MCToon on the evening of 23 February 2026, with the view of the sun descending below the horizon as predicted by spherical-Earth geometry. DamascusSteel’s non-attendance meant that he did not participate in the planned observations or provide any empirical evidence to support his original assertions. The livestream concluded shortly after sunset.
Given DamascusSteel’s absence and failure to uphold the conditions of his own challenge, the meetup concluded without the engagement he had publicly promised. Participants and observers concluded that the sunset occurred in the manner anticipated, undermining DamascusSteel’s claims about the behaviour of the sun as articulated in his flat-Earth assertions.
The challenge officially concluded in favour of the globe Earth. DamascusSteel is now coping with the aftermath. In comments made on his own YouTube channel, DamascusSteel has labeled his own challenge as "ridiculous" and "stupid".

The following morning, on 24 February 2026, DamascusSteel (seemingly still triggered from failing at his own challenge and having little sleep the previous few days) made a public announcement on his YouTube channel. In this announcement, DamascusSteel admits defeat, and describes his challenge as "a meaningless display of stupidity created by a pathetic manchild [sic]". In the same post, he also acknowledged that there was "nothing to win" in any attempt to prove that Earth is anything other than a globe, in other words, fighting reality is futile.
It is uncertain if DamascusSteel will be seeking aftercare for his mental disorders, following this challenge.
Full of desperation he challenged Toon to debate him, making a bunch of excuses.
Controversy
DamascusSteel has been previously accused of merely being an internet troll, however those don't seem to be supported by evidence, as he consistently and convincingly demonstrates that he actually believes his own misinformation and lies.

On 11 March 2026, Flat Earth Cult member "andyandersonnn" called DamascusSteel out for discrediting "flat earth research". He also referred to DamascusSteel as "idiotic". It seems that DamascusSteel is not well liked or respected among his own cult.
