Shand (ShandTV) is a TikTok flat earther known for hosting Lives and being on TikTok for extended periods of time. He may purchase followers or hearts to promote himself. He is usually unreasonable and aggressive towards globers. Shand believes himself to be a "top flat earther". Most of his arguments can be debunked by using the models created by drajmarsh, in particular the earthsun model.
Debate Style
Shand usually hosts a Live because he likes to control who can speak and will often mute and drop others from the panel. He rarely visits other lives because he needs to remain in control and can't handle disagreements. He frequently overtalks others to reiterate his points.
Shand likes to monologue about flat earth as if no one has heard his ideas before. He also doesn't seem to understand that people can get what's he's saying the first time and his ideas are not new. He will repeat and reword his points multiple times as if they become more credible the more times they are repeated.
Shand has a problem with people disagreeing with him. Usually, he only allows a sentence or two before he interrupts. After interrupting a few times, he will usually begin muting, yelling and then dropping the other person from panel. He is really upset that his points about flat earth that he repeats so often are not immediately accepted as proof. He is aggressive towards globers and likes to quiz them on obscure facts and tell them they're wrong - even if they get the answer right. His quiz questions are usually about science and astronomical trivia.
Obscure Beliefs
Besides flat earth Shand has other obscure beliefs such as sound is faster than light. He started stating this in 2026. Shand also thinks when you reflect a word it will make a shape which has a distinctive and profound meaning. For example, he might take the word "AND", write it horizontal, and write a mirror reflection next to it. Then he would see AA and thinks it means hills or some other meaning and then continue to assign meanings to the other reflected figures he created. He also thinks when you take a word apart it has a hidden meaning, like "airplane" means flying in the air over a flat plane. He may be into numerology also.
Flat Earth Arguments
While other flat earthers make a passing attempt to pretend to have a good grasp of science Shand does not. Do not expect to have an in-depth discussion of physics or any other science with Shand.
Mostly he believes that just observing the sun from various locations on earth disproves the globe. For example, he doesn't understand how someone in Jamaica and someone from Australia can see the sun at the same time on the globe. He also believes the 24-hour moon somehow disproves the globe.
Observations
Shand and other flat earthers who panel with him have made live simultaneous observations of the sun in the sky from their different locations around the globe. During these observations no one records the exact cardinal direction or azimuth elevation of the sun; the observations are simply the fact the sun can be seen. They have done this several times and are very proud of the observations because they think they support flat earth. They have also made simultaneous observations of the moon.
Love/Hate Relationship with ChatGPT
Shand believes ChatGPT is some type of spokesperson for the globe and likes to quiz it about the shape of the earth. He will question it often and trust it gives accurate answers. When Shand checks a mercator map projection of a globe and he sees ChatGPT was incorrect he will think he has disproved the globe. He will not consider that ChatGPT was unable to answer his obscure question and the information it got from its search results was incorrect.
Ironically other times when Shand is not questioning ChatGPT directly and talking about it in general terms he will say you can't trust it because it will give you incorrect information.
Magical model vs drajmarsh model
Shand has downloaded a magical flat earth model which is somewhat based on Walter Bislin's flat earth dome model. It is possibly called Flat Earth Pro which is a competitor to Flat Earth Dave's app. His fake model uses a "personal dome" which puts the sun exactly where the globe predicts regardless of the observers location on the flat earth. Because it's not based on reality his flat earth model allows for a 24 hour sun in Antarctica. One of the more glaring flaws for those models is that when you have observers in Union Glacier and Darwin Australia they could both look south at the same time to see the sun - something that falsifies the flat earth and was demonstrated by The Final Experiment. Shand thinks the model he downloaded is an accurate flat earth model because it matches globe predictions.
Jeran and others have tried to show Shand the earth/sun model created by Andrew Marsh but that has just made him become very upset. In particular when Jeran used the drajmarsh model to debunk his globe denial claims he did not have a response and kept repeating the model wasn't NASA approved. The conversation was unable to continue because Shand started shouting in protest "That model is not from NASA! That model is not from NASA!".
Shand still continues to argue his observations cannot be modeled on a globe.
