Steve from England is a Religiflerf who was very interested in The Final Experiment. He has a distrust for governments, and was influenced by Vance Packard's book The Hidden Persuaders
Interest in The Final Experiment
Will Duffy interviewed Steve on the TFE channel Dec 9, 2024 before the trip took place. Steve seemed very friendly and reasonable during the interview. His contention was that it was possible for the participants to be deceived as to when midnight in Union Glacier actually was, since the camp's time zone could be arbitrarily decided. During the interview Steve asked to be called while Will was in Antarctica and promised to change his mind about Flat Earth. Steve reasoned that if Will were to call him the time zone in Union Glacier would not matter; during a live phone call the subsolar point of the sun could be determined and if the sun was visible from Union Glacier when it shouldn't be the AE map would be falsified. It was one of 2 calls planned between TFE participants and Flat Earthers; the other call was between Critical Think and Mick from Brisbane. Steve also placed a bet that Critical Thinks upcoming flight from Sydney to Santiago was not possible.
When Will hosted the TFE midnight livestream from Antarctica on YouTube, his phone was in use for broadcasting a 24 hour livestream on the Candace Show Podcast channel on Rumble. He said hello to Steve on the YouTube livestream and planned to contact him when his phone was not in use. Steve was watching the midnight livestream, evidenced by his comment in chat at the 37:33 mark. Steve was upset that he was referenced and threw a tantrum and blocked Will's phone number. Will's attempt to contact Steve failed several times while in Antarctica. It was not agreed that Will had to call Steve the first day.[1]
After The Final Experiment
After the final experiment Will and Steve talked again, and Steve explained that being referenced during the livestream broke their agreement, and at that point became disinterested in evidence for the midnight sun in Antarctica. Steve had started posting videos on his channel ranting about TFE and then became interested in one point of Jeran's livestream videos where Jeran said "since" and believed Jeran was sending a secret message by saying "sets". Steve was not interested in Jeran's stating there was a midnight sun and nothing deceptive happened with the trip. Steve offered another bet that Jeran had said the word "sets" and not "since". Steve later had a discussion on Flatzoids channel discussing his experience with TFE. Will called in and asked if Steve would be interested in evidence for the midnight sun. Steve's response was that he wished to rehash what happened during the trip with the failed phone call and was not interested in additional evidence.
In the aftermath of the second bet many noticed that someone claiming to be Steve's son was commentating on Steve's videos ranting about TFE. The son was claiming that flat earth was ruining Steve's life and creating division and strain among his family, while pleading for him to stop. DP debunks reacted and asked for patience and calm from those commentating on Steve's videos. DP also asked everyone to stop asking about the bet and consider the bet paid to him. Steve's YouTube channel hasn't posted additional videos since 2025.
