“Kid in a basement” rumor
On April 13, 2021 MCToon had Flatter Day Saints on his channel for a debate. During the debate, FDS made spontaneous, unwarranted accusations about Toon having a child chained up in his basement.[1]
FDS also mentioned adrenochrome, tying the accusation to QAnon.
Initial Accusation
FDS claimed that rainbows were caused by the firmament and that “You cannot recreate a rainbow in a house without a concave mirror.”
To debunk this, Toon queued up a video by Jimbo Science called “Indoor Rainbow, Flat Earth Debunk”, where a father and his children spray water to create a rainbow inside their garage. As Toon brought it onscreen, the video was paused, showing a child sitting on the floor with his hand on a water valve.
Before Toon had a chance to explain anything or play the video, FDS leapt to making filthy accusations that the child was imprisoned by Toon, possibly a victim of kidnapping, molestation, and/or ritual sacrifice:
FDS: Is that a picture live from your basement, Micktoon?
Toon: No.
FDS: Oh, okay.
Toon: You said—
FDS: I was gonna say, I wouldn’t call the cops if it was, but I would just pray for you, you know, that you let him go. I’m just saying though.
Toon: So here you go.
Toon plays the video
Toon: Got a pipe with a valve on it, and then he’s gonna—
FDS: Does that kid have a shackle around his leg?
Toon: I don’t think so. So here’s the light—
FDS: I thought you guys were preparing that walnut sauce, you know what I mean? For you and the higher-ups—
Toon: Alright. You see that light?
FDS: Okay, cool.
…
Toon regained control of the conversation long enough to show the rainbow demonstration in the video.
As FDS began moving the goalposts, Toon closed the video and began pressing FDS to admit that he was wrong. When FDS refused Toon called him a liar, at which point FDS returned to making accusations:
FDS: Walnut sauce, bro. I mean I just saw a little kid in your basement on video, Micktoon, but you know …
Toon: That wasn’t my video—
FDS: (making air quotes, in a sarcastic voice) “But adrenochrome’s not real, they’re not extracting that from little kids!”
Moments later Toon kicked FDS off the livestream, then wrapped up his show.
Matthew Hakim incident
On Feb 13, 2024 there was a 2v2 debate scheduled on Modern-Day Debate with MCToon and GlobieMcGlobeFace vs Matthew Hakim and another opponent. James from MDD was struggling to find a suitable partner for Matthew, and he suggested Flatter Day Saints.
Toon refused to debate FDS, and shared with James the clip of FDS’s baseless accusations. James forwarded the clip to Matthew Hakim.[2]
On the Zoom call right before the debate, Matthew started repeating FDS’s accusations:[3]
Matthew Hakim: I saw that creepy video with— It looked like there was a kid handcuffed to the floor. That shit’s pretty creepy, man. I don’t know what was going on in that video.
Toon: I dunno what you’re talking about.
Matthew Hakim: It looked weird. Flatter Day Saints was gonna be my partner. I didn’t know you guys have beef.
Toon: Oh yeah, he’s a horrible person, yeah. Flatter Day Saints is a disgusting and vile monster.
Matthew Hakim: James sent me the video, man.
Toon: Yeah.
Matthew Hakim: Dude, it looks bad, dude. That’s like some Pizzagate-type shit.
Toon: (Growing angry) Yeah, you wanna get off of here right now, Matthew? You wanna get the hell off of here if you’re gonna be accusing me of that? You absolute fucking monster! … That’s it. Ryan? This ends right now. Right now!
Matthew Hakim: I’m sorry. I dunno what happened, dude—
Toon: No, shut up! Shut up!
Matthew Hakim: I dunno what happened.
Toon: This ends now!
Matthew Hakim: I’m not saying anything happened.
Toon: You worthless piece of garbage!
Matthew Hakim: Well, that’s not—
Toon: Oh, no. This is not happening. You already accused me of the exact thing that I said I would not have Flatter Day Saints on because of that. And you just did the same thing to me.
Matthew Hakim: Toon, chill. I dunno what happened!
Toon: Right now, you did the same thing. Out! Out!
…
Ross: If it ain’t true, then let it go. Don’t be so mad if it ain’t true.
Globie McGlobeFace: That’s not how that works.
Toon: That’s not how it works, Ross. You can shut up, Ross.
Ross: That is how it works in real life. Unless he’s, like, bringing up a legal—
Toon: You can shut up, Ross. That was illegal.
Matthew Hakim: I just didn’t know what was going on with you guys. Flatter Day Saints was gonna be my partner, and then James sent me the video—
Toon: No, listen. You made a very clear accusation against me.
Matthew Hakim: No I didn’t.
Toon: Yeah you did.
After Ryan muted Matthew and discussed things with Toon, the decision went forward to cancel the debate on MDD. Matthew was eventually kicked from the Zoom call.
Ongoing coordinated slander & gaslighting
The flerf community continues to perpetrate a coordinated campaign against MCToon over this issue, to this day.
