Dr.PhLaTtruth, also known as Dr. Davis-Besse, is an American flat Earther active on TikTok. He is known for making extreme claims about flat-Earth belief, misunderstanding basic physics, and treating an observation in which a large portion of a distant cooling tower is hidden as evidence against Earth curvature.

Flat Earth claims
Flat Earth knowledge can cure cancer
Dr.PhLaTtruth has claimed that knowing the “flat Earth truth” can cure cancer.
No evidence has been provided that adopting a belief about the shape of Earth can prevent, treat, or cure cancer. Flat-Earth belief is not a medical treatment and should not be substituted for evidence-based medical care.
Sound travels faster than light
Dr.PhLaTtruth has claimed that sound travels faster than light.
This is incorrect. In air, sound travels at roughly 343 metres per second under ordinary conditions, while light travels at approximately 299,792,458 metres per second in a vacuum. Light is therefore vastly faster than sound.
The delay between seeing lightning and hearing thunder is an everyday demonstration of this difference.
Davis-Besse cooling-tower observation
Dr.PhLaTtruth uses a photograph of the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station taken from more than 20 miles away as supposed evidence for a flat Earth.
The observation shows the upper portion of a large cooling tower while hundreds of feet of its lower structure are hidden beyond the horizon. Rather than contradicting Earth curvature, the missing lower portion is the feature that requires explanation.
A distant object being visible does not mean the entire object should be visible. The relevant question is how much of the structure is hidden and whether that amount is consistent with the observer height, target height, distance, atmospheric refraction, and Earth curvature.
Despite the lower section of the tower being obscured, Dr.PhLaTtruth treats the visibility of its upper section as proof that Earth is flat.
