Measures of Flerfiness
The following terms are commonly[1] used in the analysis of Flerf statements and claims regarding any aspect of the universe about which a Flerf claims to have knowledge or understanding.
- Moronosity
- The degree of unintelligent thought exhibited by a Flerf.
- Dumbosity
- A measure of the amount of identifiable "dumbness" in a Flerf claim.
Etymology and Usage
Moronosity
Moronosity is a term coined by MCToon [2] used to measure the degree of unintelligent thought given by Flerfs to their understanding of the nature of the observable universe.
It is used more broadly as an indicator of the degree of collective lack of intelligence publicly demonstrated by Flerfs.
The current world-wide measure of Flerf Moronosity is indicated on the Flerf Moronosity Meter.
Dumbosity
Dumbosity is a term coined by MCToon [3] used to measure the level of "dumb" evident in any statement or claim made by a Flerf. It is commonly used for ranking and comparison.
An example of its use can be viewed here.
Notes
Reciprocal derivation
It is sometimes claimed that these measures can be equally derived by using related inverse measures - e.g. Intelligence or Insightfulness. Attempts to do so however invariably require precise measurement of extremely small values typically indistinguishable from a zero value. Division by zero commonly occurs during the conversion.
Derivation methods that use these reciprocal measures thus can not be used reliably or accurately and are therefore not generally considered viable or practicable.
