Flight paths

One of the flerf cult dogmas is that “flight paths don’t work on a globe.” One of them wrote a book 16 Emergency Landings Proving a Flat Earth.

However, to make this claim they strawman the globe by using either a Mercator map, or some other type of cylindrical map projection, and simply hope their viewer (or reader) won’t notice they are not using a globe.

Cylindrical map projections are not intended to show, and cannot ever show, the true shortest great circle route on a spherical earth.
