Walter Bislin made an interactive JavaScript model[1] showing that the flat earth requires light to bend in impossible ways.
Shane St. Pierre subsequently stole this model, tried to remove references to the source (except a derogatory footnote hidden at the bottom), and claimed it not only as his own work but as a flat earth proof instead of a debunk. His stolen version can be found here.
This has been used by innumerable flerfs now, with not one flerf ever calling out or correcting the dishonesty. They are still using it to this day (see below).
Recent Cases
| Date | Perpetrator | Link | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oct 30, 2024 | Steven Alonzo | Google Play App | Created an app out of plagiarized Bislin code. He claimed it wasn’t plagiarism because it was written in TypeScript instead of JavaScript,[2] even though TypeScript is a superset of JavaScript. |
| Dec 21, 2024 | Eric Dubay | YouTube video (at 5m52s) | Carefully cropped to avoid crediting source. Likely inspired Angel’s use 7 days later |
| Dec 28, 2024 | Angel | YouTube livestream (at 22m55s) | On MDD. He used Bislin’s original, likely a sign that he knows full well that he was spreading a lie. |
