Steve from England is a flat earther mainly known for his discussions about The Final Experiment. He has talked with Will Duffy several times on The Final Experiment YouTube channel. Steve is a good example of devotion to a belief rather than objective reality. He also claims to be a body language expert.

Steve is one of 2 flat earthers that TFE participants planned to call during the Antarctica trip; the other planned call was between Critical Think and his friend Mick. It is notable that Steve provided two exceptions to the Laws_of_Flerf.

Steve is inactive due to family issues.

Flat Earth Beliefs

Steve stated many of his beliefs in a video Will Duffy posted on the TFE channel.
Steve is a Religiflerf who believes God created a flat earth, "fixed and firm", with a canopy above to separate the waters. He has a distrust for governments and believes there are invisible forces that are shaping the way people think. He said he was also influenced by Vance Packard's book The Hidden Persuaders.

One of the first videos that got Steve into flat earth was an Eric Dubay video he watched in 2015 titled "Earth is flat". After watching that video, he became convinced. From there Steve started to communicate and talking with Eric, however, Steve said later on he had a falling out with Eric who banned him.

Steve believes many of the typical flat earth beliefs such as

• Gravity doesn't make sense
• Everything NASA does is deceptive
• The moon landings were faked
• Since he doesn't feel earth spin it doesn't
• Climate change is "a scary story"
• "Vested interests" are pushing false information about a midnight sun in Antarctica
• People who make a pyramid with their hands while talking are sending secret signals and are "in the gang"
• The 24 hour sun in Antarctica doesn't work on the globe
• There is no way a 24 hour sun would happen in Antarctica

The Final Experiment and Steve

Steve's interest and discussions about the final experiment are representative of the reactions of many flat earthers: rejection of evidence, obsession with speculating about minutiae, and moving of goalposts demonstrate their unreasonable approach to discussion.

Interest in The Final Experiment

Before he heard about TFE Steve said he was at a point in his life where he was content in his beliefs about flat earth and wasn't interested in investigating it further. When he heard about TFE it gained his interest and he sent an email to Will Duffy to talk about the trip and the Antarctica midnight sun. Will interviewed him and posted their [discussion] on the TFE channel before the trip took place. Steve seemed very friendly during the interview and talked about minutiae he researched about flat earth and Antarctica. One of his contentions was that it was possible for the participants to be deceived about the midnight sun in Union Glacier.

Steve also speculated there was trickery about the midnight sun, such as:

• Since the camp's time zone could be arbitrarily decided and people travel through so many time zones to reach Antarctica, that visitors wouldn't actually know when midnight actually was
• The albedo effect of sun reflecting off of snow could be bright enough to seem as if it was daytime even at midnight
• It's possible for the moon to be bright enough that people mistake it for the sun
• People in Antarctica are taking pictures of the midnight sun that don't match what the authorities tell us

As a solution to the time zone issue, they reasoned that if Will were to call Steve when it should be midnight the time zone used in Union Glacier would not matter.
(During a live phone call the subsolar point of the sun could be determined and if the sun was visible from Union Glacier when it shouldn't be the AE map would be falsified. Also the sun simply up in the sky for 24 hours would resolve that concern. )

Nearing the end of the interview Steve asked to be contacted through WhatsApp while Will was in Antarctica. Will said he would livestream with Steve either at midnight according to Ushuaia time or solar midnight. They discussed that it might be 3am for Steve's location in London. Steve said anytime between 1am and 4am on Ushuaia time the sun should be "long gone" from the area. Steve and Will started talking about if there were to be an issue with clouds.

At the timestamp 40:54, Will then said:

"Yes so let's talk about the clouds for a second, so I don't know which day we're going to be able to do this um maybe we can do it on the 14th but if but if we can't maybe we'll do it on the 15th we have we have a few days, if there's cloud coverage I think what we should do is try to do it the next day and I think we should try to do it each day until we have clear skies."

Steve was agreeable that Will may not be able to contact him the first day for a livestream. At the end of the discussion Will committed to change his mind about the globe if the sun went down.

Disagreement during the midnight livestream

Before the midnight livestream started Will had lent his phone for use in helping to stream live video of the sun to Rumble. Through Mark Herman there was a connection to the Candace Show Podcast channel, and Will thought it would be very important to broadcast a 24-hour livestream from Antarctica on it. Rumble required a phone in addition to a camera in order to stream, and Will volunteered his.

Will then hosted the TFE midnight livestream from Antarctica on YouTube. Will began describing everything they were doing and interacting with the live chat. At about the 16-minute mark Will said hello to Steve on the YouTube livestream and showed the sun due south on screen. Will planned to contact Steve when his phone was not in use. Steve was watching the midnight livestream and was upset that he was referenced and falsely believed Will broke the agreement. There were some emails sent but eventually Steve threw a tantrum and cut off contact with Will. As it was not agreed that Will had to call Steve the first day Will still made several attempts to contact Steve while still in Antarctica. Will was unsuccessful in contacting Steve and thought he was blocked.

Steve's worldview falsified in front of his eyes on YouTube

Steve was watching the midnight livestream from Antarctica on The Final Experiment YouTube channel, something he would later admit in a discussion with Flatzoid. Further evidence Steve was watching is his comment in chat. While Witsit was talking on stream, the livestream chat showed a comment from Steve's @heydude7568 Youtube channel. The comment occurred at the 37:33 timestamp.

Steve watching and commentating live as the AE map was falsified

Body language interpretation and speculation with TFE participants

After the final experiment Will and Steve talked again on a 3-hour stream on YouTube. Steve began by offering a presentation of his beliefs and skepticism, making various unsubstantiated claims, such as Walt Disney knew there was a dome firmament above the flat earth. Steve also gave several examples of how he is unreasonable, such as trusting someone who has been to New Zealand because they brought back pictures but not trusting pictures from TFE. He also stated he asked Anthonty Powell "what is with the mythical midnight sun", demonstrating he believed it was a myth without evidence. In addition, he said he could read body language and had distrust for the TFE participants; their body language suggested to him that they were being deceptive. Steve stated that the only way he would believe the midnight sun in Antarctica would be if he went there himself, changing his previous criteria.

During the discussion Steve again demonstrated his obsession in the minutiae of globe denial, this time trying to debunk TFE. In particular he became interested in one of Jeran's livestream videos because he thought Jeran had said "sets" and not "since". Steve was convinced Jeran was "under pressure" and secretly sending subliminal messages to flat earthers. Will asked Steve what would convince him he is wrong about Jeran and Steve said "I can't be convinced".
Jeran then joined in on Will's livestream and specifically told Steve, "The sun did not set" and nothing deceptive happened with the trip. In response Steve said, "Jeran I'm not worried about that" and insisted on everyone rewatching Jeran's video.

Other TFE participants came onscreen to rebut some of Steve's unsupported claims and unreasonable criteria. For example, Dave McKeegan asked if Steve accepted all of the different livestreams because they showed the sun in various positions about the trip and the sun should have set in one of them. Steve responded that he accepted all the livestreams but wanted to talk about their body language and words used during the trip, demonstrating his obsession with speculation and perceived irregularities and disregarding actual evidence.
Steve later said he didn't know how TFE was faked but knew it was:

"this is the thing is guys and this is where God doesn't let us down because I don't know how you did it right I don't know how it was done but what I do know is that I understand body language and none of you and and and I'm going to be bringing out a video to show this and maybe this is going to gain a lot of attraction I'm going to be demonstrating and proving to you how your body language did not match what the victory that you were supposed to have achieved"

Steve made additional speculations about body language among the participants, like a supposed lack of enthusiasm after the midnight sun was recorded. This comes from his misunderstanding of the fact that TFE participants were not the first to observe, document, or record the midnight sun.

Near the end of the discussion, Steve lied about an additional stipulation to the agreement he made to Will; Steve said being referenced during the midnight livestream and not being called the first day broke the agreement. There was never an agreement that Will could do both: 1) reference Steve during a livestream and 2) call Steve on WhatsApp on another day. Steve admitted he cut off communication with Will after the first day of TFE, and it was at that point he was no longer interested in evidence for the midnight sun in Antarctica. In addition, Steve accused the TFE participants of wanting to "obliterate God's creation".

Steve's speculations are confronted by FTFE

After the interview on Will's channel FTFE had Steve and later Dave Mckeegan join him for a 4 hour debate on his channel.
Again Steve wanted to speculate on minutiae he believed to be irregular about TFE. Some of the highlights were:

• Steve thought it was unusual that agencies in Antarctica didn't publicize TFE
• FTFE confronts Steve about breaking the agreement to contact Will
• FTFE shares a screenshot of a message from Will sent to Steve trying to contact him while in Antarctica
• Steve rehashing his speculations about body language
• Dave pointed out Steve's changing criteria and unreasonable standards of evidence
• After Steve left the stream FTFE and Dave discuss some of the unsupported claims about TFE being fake

Flatzoid and rejection of additional evidence

A couple months later Steve and Will had a discussion on Flatzoid's channel about TFE. Steve gave his summary of their interactions, again falsely claiming that Will broke their agreement. Will asked if Steve would be interested in evidence for the midnight sun; Will proposed contacting another person who could phone Steve from Antarctica. Steve's response was that he wished to rehash what happened during the trip with the failed phone call and was not interested in additional evidence.

Will: "Steve do you want someone to live stream with you from Antarctica yes or no"
Steve: "No..."

Will left the stream after about 23 minutes. Flatzoid and Steve continued talking for another hour about TFE, and were joined by fellow flat earthers. Steve said he never blocked Will.

Family issues and stepping back from posting on YouTube

It was at this time Steve had started posting disjunctional videos on his channel speculating and ranting about TFE. He even offered a bet that Jeran had said the word "sets" and not "since". People commenting and leaving criticisms on his videos noticed that someone claiming to be Steve's son was leaving emotional comments on Steve's TFE videos. The son was begging and pleading for Steve to give up his obsession with flat earth because it was ruining Steve's life and creating division and estrangement amongst his family. DP debunks reacted and asked for patience and restraint from those commentating on Steve's videos. DP also asked everyone to stop asking about the bet and consider the bet paid to him. Steve's YouTube channel hasn't posted additional videos since 2025.

Exceptions to the Laws of Flerf

Steve is a notable example of someone that demonstrated an Exception to the 2nd law of Flerf.

During his interest in TFE Steve made a bet that the flights from Sydney to Santiago were not real. He required 2 livestreams, one at each airport within a specific time frame. Critical Think subsequently recorded 2 livestreams during his trip with TFE. One livestream was in the Sydney airport. A few hours later CT recorded a second one in Santiago.

After CT demonstrated the flights are real Steve paid the bet.

The second exception happened when Steve placed a second bet that Jeran said the word "sets" and not "since" during Jeran's second Antarctica Livestream. There was a question whether Steve meant 1000 pounds or 1000 peanuts. This bet was paid to @DPDebunks. Subsequently Steve has published what appears to be an apology for paying the bet in a video on his channel at the 12min mark in Feb 2025.

Other Crackpottery

Co-authored a book called The Truth About HIV. Interviewed about the book on the League of Nerds podcast where he admits he knows nothing about HIV biology but still maintains HIV is not real. He does equivocate when asked if he would inject him self with blood from an AIDS patient. The Truth About HIV - book review
