Luke, known online as Luke Flatwalker, is an American flat Earther active on TikTok. He is known for presenting weak arguments about flight and gravity, relying heavily on moderation controls during livestreams, and muting or removing critics before they can fully respond.

Flat Earth claims

The 2D flight-simulator argument

Luke created and presented a two-dimensional, side-scrolling flight simulation as an argument against globe-Earth flight dynamics.

The simulation did not accurately reproduce real aircraft behavior, three-dimensional navigation, changing local horizontal, aerodynamic forces, instrumentation, or the way aircraft follow curved paths around Earth. Instead, it reduced flight to a simplified side-view animation and treated the behavior of that animation as though it demonstrated how real aircraft should behave.

Luke presented the simulator on multiple occasions. After critics repeatedly pointed out that the program did not model real-world flight dynamics, he apparently stopped using it as a major argument.

A simplified animation can only demonstrate the assumptions programmed into it. It cannot independently prove those assumptions are correct.

Asking about gravity, then muting the answer

Luke has been known to ask critics how gravity works and then mute or remove them before they can finish answering.

This allows him to present the absence of an immediate explanation as though no explanation exists, even though the person being questioned has been prevented from giving one.

The tactic has earned him several of his nicknames, including Mute Flatwalker, Mute Thumbwalker, and Mute and Boot Luke.

Moderation behavior

Luke is commonly described as a keyboard warrior who is considerably more confrontational when he has moderator controls available.

He frequently relies on muting, blocking, or removing participants rather than allowing disagreements to continue. Critics have joked that his greatest source of authority is the moderator button.

The nickname Luke Thumbtalker refers to his tendency to argue from the comments or moderation panel rather than through a sustained discussion in which the other participant is allowed to respond.

Notable incidents

Attempted debate with Tiffany

During an attempted livestream debate with Tiffany, Luke answered one of her questions. When Tiffany responded with “hold on a second,” Luke became upset and left before the exchange could continue.

No recording or link is currently included for this incident.

Approach to evidence

Luke's arguments frequently depend on oversimplified examples that do not accurately represent the systems being discussed.

His flight-simulator argument attempted to replace real aviation, geometry, and physics with a two-dimensional side-scrolling model. When the model was challenged, he did not demonstrate that it matched real aircraft behavior.

His moderation style also prevents claims from being examined properly. Asking a question and then muting the person answering does not establish that the question cannot be answered.

Other info

  • Known as Luke Thumbtalker for arguing primarily through comments and moderator controls.
  • Known as Mute Flatwalker and Mute Thumbwalker for muting critics during discussions.
  • Has used a two-dimensional flight simulator as supposed evidence against globe-Earth flight.
  • Apparently stopped presenting the simulator after its limitations were repeatedly explained.
  • Has asked critics to explain gravity and then muted them before they could complete the explanation.
  • Has some of the weakest arguments in the flat-Earth community, which is not a particularly competitive category.
