This is the formula using globe geometry for the angular elevation of the sun at local solar noon and local solar midnight for any latitude.

Angular elevation at local solar noon ~= 90° - Obs_lat - Dec_sun
Angular elevation at local solar midnight ~= -90° - (Obs_lat + Dec_sun)
Where:

For 80°S Latitude on December 15, 2024:
Local solar noon ~= 90° - Obs_lat - Dec_sun
Local solar noon ~= 90° - 80° - (−23.37°)
Local solar noon ~= 33.37°

Local solar midnight ~= -90° - (Obs_lat + Dec_sun)
Local solar midnight ~= -90° - (-80° + -23.37°)
Local solar midnight ~= -90° - (-103.37°)
