On July 8, 2020 Dr. John D was on a livestream with [[Ranty]] and he was screen sharing. He [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTBZmBcKgPI&t=6668s showed his entire desktop]. Revealing that his name is Nick Street.

Is his real name Nick Street? Searching for that name we find that there is a Nick Street that did a [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/388956994/lords-of-war-fantasy-battles Kickstarter] for a board game called "Lords of War". This company has a YouTube channel, the video [https://youtu.be/V3BQ42hGOgo?si=06HliCH-sQdWF-4C&t=3 Lords of War Kickstarter!] shows Nick Street walking out of his house.]

Then in a [https://youtu.be/M9kPpQdeAXg?t=254 Dr. John D video] we see Dr. John D standing on his garage. Notice the neighbor's house has the same roof, dormers, and windows.

This, and other things not documented here, confirms that Dr. John D is Nick Street of Worthing, UK.

Now that we know who he is, is he actually a PhD?

Searches reveal a thesis: [https://doi.org/10.1117/12.339045 Fluorescence-based measurement of water-dissolved Nitrate ions]. The advisor is Ashutosh Sharma from Cranfield University, School of Mechanical Engineering, 1999.

So, it appears he has a published Thesis and he is likely a PhD from a University, likely in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

So why does he compute the effects of refraction so poorly? It's embarrassing. In the "flat earth research" he's participated in he always computed refraction wrong. This is why peer review exists. To tell his he's wrong and that he needs to correct his errors.
