According to actual computation, and not even including the real-world effects of refraction there is a predicted blockage of ZERO FEET.

Where did he get the 50 foot height? He doesn't say.
Why did he choose 13.9km (8.65 miles)? He doesn't say.
Where is the citation that ESSM 1 "hits targets over 50 km away"? He doesn't say.
Is this unsubstantiated target on the surface or the air? He doesn't say.

That's a lot of "trust me bro".

Let's see what information is actually available.

How high is the radar? The military doesn't share these details, but simple analysis can answer this question.

The radar is mounted on the elevated superstructure of the ships. Why? To increase rage. If the earth were flat physics/geometry would not require this.

The Ticonderoga-class cruisers are the tallest ships the RIM-162 Sea Sparrow is used with. The [https://www.usni.org/magazines/proceedings/1987/january/handling-ticonderoga bridge eye-height is 64] feet and the parabolic dishes for the radar is above the bridge as seen in the photo.

== Argument from gravity ==

Aristotle called gravity a “centripetal impulse”, i.e. movement that converges toward a central point rather than in parallel lines.

He explicitly reasoned that this would mean earth is a sphere:

Its shape must necessarily be spherical. There is an often-repeated misconception that one of Aristotle’s arguments was ships on the horizon. This is immediately followed by an argument that parallels Aristotle, but applied to why oceans don’t fall off the globe:

Many flerfs believe that American schools once taught flat earth, and then within living memory they changed to teach the globe.

Far from having any credible support, this claim sharply contradicts the united witness of history. Western civilization has known the earth was a globe [[Wikipedia:Spherical_Earth#History_of_concept_and_measurement|since ancient times]], and no accredited American school has ever denied the globe in its curriculum.

This lie seems to have been contrived by [[Dave Weiss]]. The woman’s name was Ruth Heath. It is not known whether:
* she was coached by Weiss;
* she is relating a corrupted memory of the well-documented [[Wikipedia:Myth of the flat Earth|myth about when the globe was discovered]], which was taught incorrectly in American schools and textbooks even into the 21st century; or
* she is exhibiting some other type of [[Wikipedia:Confabulation|confabulation]] or [[Wikipedia:Dementia|dementia]].

In any of the above cases, Dave Weiss using her for content could be considered a type of [[Wikipedia:Elder abuse|elder abuse]].
